WEST HOLLYWOOD (KABC) — A 42-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly followed two minors and assaulted one of them in West Hollywood, authorities said.

Elmer Mercado was arrested Thursday for lascivious acts against a minor and annoying and molesting a minor, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Last Tuesday, deputies responded to 1000 block of Havenhurst Drive after the two juveniles reported that a man followed them and assaulted one of them.

“Based on the nature of the allegations, detectives believe there may be additional unidentified victims,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement. “Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying any such victims.”

Mercado has since been charged and remains in custody on $100,000 bail.
