Police said 21-year-old Elmer Bautista Candela was taken into custody at a home in the 100 block of Bashford Road. Other people were in the home, but none of those occupants were injured or arrested, police said. Those people were being questioned, and their relationship to Candela was not yet known.

Police said they believe that he is responsible for an incident that happened on Aug. 16, where a person “rammed a police vehicle with a pickup truck, and fled the scene” on Thistlebrook Court.

Candela was wanted for outstanding warrants for assault by strangulation, injury to personal property, and attempted larceny.
