Nearly 100 customers reported being burned after the doors of their Oster French Door Countertop Ovens unexpectedly closed.
SAN FRANCISCO — Sunbeam Products recalled roughly 1.3 million countertop ovens in the United States and Canada on Thursday, citing a defect where the doors close while not in use and pose a burn hazard.
Nearly 100 customers reported being burned after the doors of their Oster French Door Countertop Ovens unexpectedly closed. Two of the reports included second-degree burns from the product, according to the recall.
Models TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDG, TSSTTVFDMAF and TSSTTVFDDAF sold between August 2015 and July 2025 are impacted, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. A label on the back of the item identifies the model number.
The ovens were sold at Bed Bath and Beyond, Costco, Walmart and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and Overstock.com for between $140 and $250, according to the recall.
An estimated 1,290,000 were sold in the U.S. and an additional 104,195 units were sold in Canada.
The products were manufactured in China and imported by Atlanta, Georgia based Sunbeam.
CPSC encouraged customers to stop using the item until it is repaired. Consumers can request a free repair kit from Sunbeam by contacting the company at 800‑334‑0759 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday) or go online to recall.oster.com.
