Staten Island stabbing takes life of man, 81; two other men injured

An 81-year-old man died and a 78-year-old man was in critical condition after a knife attack on Staten Island Friday afternoon.

Cops said they were called to a home on Sunnyside Terrace in Sunnyside around 4:40 p.m. where they found the 81-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his neck and body.

The 81-year-old, and 78-year-old and a 51-year-old man who suffered lacerations to his hands were taken to Richmond University Medical Center, said a Fire Department official.

The 81-year-old man was pronounced deceased, according to cops. The 78-year-old male remained in critical condition Friday evening.

Cops said they nabbed a 57-year-old man in connection with the attack.

Police believed the incident grew from a dispute among neighbors, but were not immediately able to offer further details on Friday evening.
