It’s been one year since Denver’s box-headed superhero danced to house music during the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.

The parade returns in all of its green colored glory in celebration of Denver’s Irish heritage, a decades long tradition in the city.

Here’s what you need to know about the parade

The 62nd Annual Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place Saturday, March 16 starting at 9:30 a.m.

The route first steps out onto 19th Street from behind ChopHouse & Brewery Denver and continues towards Union Station before turning left on 17th Street.

Much of the parade route will travel along Blake Street between 17th Street and 27th Street, where it ends. The best spots for families are in those last few blocks along Blake Street, between 23rd and 27th avenues.

The use of public transportation is encouraged, but the first come, first serve Coors Field parking structure, located at 27th and Blake Street, will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for entry.

Expect wet weather conditions on parade day. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), there is a slight chance of snow between noon and 1 p.m., followed by a chance of rain after 1 p.m.
