Here’s what you should know before hitting the road.
The closure will begin Friday at 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said the closure will be suspended for three hours from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday to allow the Seafair Torchlight Parade.
WSDOT said crews will open the following during the three-hour suspension:
Drivers are asked to consider alternate routes and to prepare for delays.
Following the weekend closure, WSDOT said drivers will begin to use the “new and improved” westbound SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Boulevard.
The three-acre lid over SR 520, which will include a green space and a new transit area, is expected to open this fall.
