Sony Music Publishing UK has announced a reshuffle within its A&R department, with three key promotions for executives.

Felix Canetty-Clarke is upped to VP, UK A&R Strategy & International Research, from his previous role as Senior Director, A&R Research and Analytics, UK and International.

The company has also promoted Sarah Gabrielli to Senior Director A&R, UK & Europe, and Saul Fitton to Senior Director of A&R, UK, effective immediately.

In his new role, Canetty-Clarke will continue to drive the company’s data-driven A&R initiatives and expand his focus across operations and strategy. Canetty-Clarke, who joined the company in 2018 as A&R Research and Analytics Manager, has built up his department from scratch while also signing talents including Caity Baser, Neave Applebaum, Taet, Joe Unknown, Miggy Dela Rosa, Lovejoy, and Matilda Mann.

Meanwhile, Gabrielli and Fitton will both play roles in driving opportunities for Sony Music Publishing’s roster of songwriters and advancing the company’s creative strategy.

“Sarah, Saul and Felix are the very best talents in the UK. Their passion for music, their drive and their unique daily dedication for our songwriters are exemplary.”

David Ventura, Sony Music Publishing

Gabrielli has signed and worked closely with breakthrough talents such as beabadoobee, Cian Ducrot, Baby Queen, and Jim Legaxcy since joining the company in 2016. She has also worked with hitmakers such as Sampha, Arlo Parks, Koz, Tom Mann (Lewis Capaldi, Anne Marie, Becky Hill), Mark Ralph and more. She most recently held the position of UK and Europe A&R Manager.

Fitton, who began his career at Sony Music Publishing in 2020 as Senior A&R Manager, has also made his mark by signing and supporting hitmakers like Pablo Bowman, Lostboy, Mimi Webb, Bastille, Mae Stephens, and Gracey. His creative collaborations extend to Plested, TMS, Tom Grennan, Anne-Marie, and more.

Commenting on their promotions, David Ventura, President & Co-Managing Director, UK and SVP International, Sony Music Publishing said, “Sarah, Saul and Felix are the very best talents in the UK. Their passion for music, their drive and their unique daily dedication for our songwriters are exemplary.”

“Together they bring the future of our company and with Tim we have been inspired to see everyone recognizing their successes and achievements. Their promotions through the ranks here at Sony Music Publishing have been organic and stellar, we all look forward to seeing them grow into their new roles and promising careers.”

“Tim” refers to Tim Major, who, along with Ventura, is Co-Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing in the UK.

Their promotions follow other leadership changes at the company.

Last month, Sony Music Publishing’s global HQ in the US appointed Robin Nastri to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Global Business Office.

In May, Andrew Spence was promoted to General Counsel at Sony Music Publishing UK, while Shauni Caballero was named Senior A&R Manager in November 2022.
