SiriusXM today (April 6) announced Sleep Theory as its latest Artist Accelerator. Sleep Theory — consisting of Cullen Moore, Paolo Vergara, and Ben Pruitt — is the first hard-rock band to be selected as part of the coveted program, which develops and breaks new artists by leveraging the massive combined audience of the company’s flagship premium subscription service, SiriusXM, and its ad-supported streaming service, Pandora.

On the Rise

This past Tuesday, Octane (Ch. 37) and Pandora DECIBEL exclusively premiered Sleep Theory’s new single, “Numb”; the song’s single-day streams were 132,000 with 4,500 Thumbs Up. In just under four days, “Numb” amassed over 324,000 streams and 10,550 Thumbs Up. Check out a clip from band’s exclusive interview with SiriusXM’s “Metal Ambassador” Jose Mangin about their rise and being an Artist Accelerator below. Listen to Sleep Theory’s Pandora DECIBEL here.

The band’s debut single, “Another Way,” was added to DECIBEL and Octane as an Octane Accelerator back in early February. After a few weeks in hyper rotation, “Another Way” quickly jumped to #5 on Octane’s Big Uns Countdown. “Numb” made its Big Uns debut this past weekend at #15, giving Sleep Theory two songs in Octane’s Top 15 most requested countdown show and was the #12 most thumbed song of the week on Pandora.

sleep theoryThe Artist Accelerator program spotlights emerging artists and aims to remove barriers created by today’s song-first-driven culture to help artists grow their listener base and build fandom. Leveraging the reach of SiriusXM’s broadcast network and Pandora’s personalized radio offering, the Artist Accelerator program is unlike any other, exposing selected artists to over 100 million listeners to help them succeed.

Last November, SiriusXM launched the Artist Accelerator program with R&B artist Coco Jones, supported by The Heat (Ch. 46) and Heart & Soul (Ch. 48) channels. In March, self-proclaimed “country-grunge” artist Austin Snell became the next program member, supported by The Highway (Ch. 56).
