IGALA’S SECOND ALBUM ‘EVERY CLOUD’ RELEASED MARCH 3RD, 2023.
PRE-ORDER ‘EVERY CLOUD’ HERE
Powerhouse MNEK and British DJ, producer, and musician Sigala collaborate on the global Ministry of Sound release “Radio” to start off 2023 in style.
Sigala is getting ready to release his second full-length album, “Every Cloud,” following the success of eight UK Top 10 singles, a BRIT Nomination for Best Single for Lullaby, seven global Platinum singles, nine global Gold singles, seven million UK sales, 22 million worldwide sales, four billion audio streams, and more than one billion video views.
One of Sigala’s all-time heroes co-wrote and sang the song “Radio,” the latest sample from the album.
“MNEK, what a legend!” he beams. “I’ve followed his career since day one, when I was at uni. He’s somebody that I’ve always dreamed of working with.”
And even for a man accustomed to utilizing the studio as a creative playground, he didn’t let us down with his writing.
“I spent about two hours making a beat, getting some nice chords, whilst he was just chilling. And then he was like, ‘OK, just play it through.’ He’s on his phone, typing down lyrics, then he jumps on the microphone. And literally 20 minutes later, he had written the whole song – and the vocal is the one that he sang in two takes!” Sigala marvels. “Just incredible. I was honestly blown away. It was like being in the presence of true genius.”
There is, accordingly, a freshness to the French disco feel of the track. “That’s something I wanted to keep true to; not overproduce it. It’s a simple production, but it’s also unique, with that offbeat bass going through. It throws back to early 2000s and late 90s stuff, and even disco.”
MNEK is revered as a cultural icon in the LGBTQIA+ community and has performed at events like New York World Pride 2019 and UK Black Pride. She has also been on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as a coach and guest judge.
MNEK has continued to work toward greater industry inclusivity as a contributor to the Guardian UK diversity panel and host of his own YouTube panel, “MNEKs Inter-Section,” in conversation with 5 Black Queer artists/content creators. In 2019, he established a writing camp to assist LGBTQIA+ singer/songwriters.
He has worked in the music industry for an incredible thirteen years and s developed into a significant force in the British music scene with tracks that he has written, featured, and produced, having had over 4 BILLION streams. He has collaborated with some of the greatest artists in the business, including Zara Larsson, Stormzy, Years & Years, and Craig David.
His discography features several international singles, such as “Ready For Your Love,” “Never Forget You,” and “Blinded By Your Grace.” His collaboration with Joel Corry, “Head & Heart,” was a worldwide hit that topped the charts in several nations and will hold the record for the longest-running UK #1 song in 2020. With “Where Did You Go?” (his collaboration with Jax Jones), which went platinum and spent an incredible 32 weeks on the charts, as well as the release of the highly anticipated female R&B trio FLO and their debut EP “The Lead,” which he executive produced, 2022 saw him continue to succeed both on and off the stage.
On ‘Radio’ MNEK adds, “Bruce & I wrote this song a few years ago. It was such a fun and easy session and it’s really cool how he evolved the song into the record you’re hearing today!”
‘Every Cloud’ is the album Sigala has been working on from pretty much the minute he finished making his first, September 2018’s blockbuster ‘Brighter Days’. The impressive debut album featured a stellar line-up of collaborators that included Kylie Minogue, Paloma Faith, French Montana, Ella Eyre, Becky Hill + more!
Sigala had another fantastic year, performing for fans all over the world and releasing hit tracks off the upcoming album on a regular basis.
Along with “Lasting Lover,” which features James Arthur, “Melody,” “Stay The Night,” “Rely On Me,” and the David Guetta and Sam Ryder duet “Living Without You,” “Every Cloud” will also feature other songs.
These releases have received an astounding 500 million streams overall and counting.
‘Every Cloud,’ available in various forms like a digital download, vinyl, CD, and cassette, is expected to have yet another massive lineup of guest performers, who will soon be made public.
Additionally, Sigala announced a headline UK tour that would begin on March 5 in Dublin.
The news of the record and tour follows a busy 2022 that saw him triumphantly make a comeback to the live music industry and perform for tens of thousands of fans during a fully booked North American tour. Sigala is looking forward to reconnecting with his fans and bringing the Sigala experience to more live electric events this year, poised to be another standout.
