PORTLAND, Oregon — Showers linger at this hour but will taper off by morning in northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. A few inches of snow will fall in the Cascades and Coast Range before the rain and snow totally end.

Morning clouds Tuesday give way to afternoon sun. High temperatures will be in the 40s with lows in the mid-30s.

Morning temperatures Wednesday through Friday will be colder. With lows in the upper 20s and low 30s, frost will be widespread in the western valleys. But the days will be sunny, with highs climbing into the 50s by the end of the work week.

Valley rain and mountain snow return this weekend.
