Aussie pop sensations Rogue Traders are back, reunited with vocalist Natalie Bassingthwaighte on their new single Take You Down. The noughties-influenced banger picks up exactly where the band left off, with the number shining as a grooving electro-dance track that captures the very essence of what made them such musical favourites during the noughties.
With a brand new album expected later this year, titled Midnight Alarms, Rogue Traders are well and truly back. The band gifted us hits such as Voodoo Child and Watching You, which have since become cult favourites across the globe. Take You Down delivers the catchiness we expect from a Rogue Traders track, with a hypnotic chorus calling: “The way you move your body / Thinkin’ everybody’s watchin’ / Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na / I’ll take you, I’ll take you down.”
Take You Down is written by James Ash and Melinda Appleby, with production from Ash.
Rogue Traders share: “This is the first strike of the Midnight Alarms era. We didn’t come back to play it quiet. This track will eat you. The mission: hit the link in bio. Stream it. Save it. Own it. Let the algorithm know the Rogue Traders are back.”
Describing the response to the track, Rogue Traders add: “The reaction has been incredible and we are so overwhelmed by all the love coming our way. We must have the most patient fans in the world, and to hear that the wait has been worth it from you guys is very humbling. Best believe this is just the start, and 2026 is going to be our way of saying thank you to you all, by serving fierce shows, new music and keeping our eyes firmly on the future.”
We’ll share more news on Midnight Alarms when we have it. Stay in the loop with Culture Fix on X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Spotify and Threads.
