Rihanna just showed the world four different examples of her red carpet maternity style at the Oscars. But yesterday, she slipped into something a little more causal—and gave the public an example of stylish, laid-back maternity dressing.

Paparazzi captured her and A$AP Rocky out for a walk in Los Angeles. The two coordinated in jeans, hints of red, and overall cool tones, with Rihanna wearing a blue striped Loewe crop top and low-rise Agolde jeans. Rocky, meanwhile, wore a red plaid button-down and green vest with his own pair of jeans. Rihanna has not disclosed how far along in her second pregnancy she is, but she hasn’t hidden her figure at all, proudly displaying it on the street and red carpet in impeccably chic looks.

During her first pregnancy, Rihanna spoke about her maternity style philosophy. “Maybe…rebellious?” she told Bustle in March 2022. “When I saw women dress during their pregnancy [in the past], I’d think that that was the only way. So I challenged myself to push it further and really just have fun with [maternity style]. Because there’s nothing more fun than a challenge for me. Like that’s where I get creative. That’s where I’m forced to come up with new ideas and new ways to make it work.”

She added of her dressing mindset generally, “It’s been me personally saying, ‘I’m not going to buy maternity clothes. I’m not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before.’”

On what styling lessons she’ll carry over after her first pregnancy, she added, “I think [in terms of] having fun and being creative, I’ve had a little extra boost of that. And now I don’t want it to end. There’s going to be the other side of pregnancy, which is like your ‘snap back’ body, and that’s going to be a challenge in and of itself. So I’m looking forward to being creative in that [stage] as well.”
