In 2022, Rebel Wilson announced she was in a serious relationship with a woman named Ramona Agruma, a successful fashion and jewelry designer. Wilson made the announcement with an adorable post on Instagram of a selfie with her sweetheart, writing in the caption, “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.”

Agruma founded a sustainable fashion company called Lemon Ve Limon in 2021. The line focuses on affordability and comfort. She also started luxury jewelry company DeLys in 2013, and is reportedly still the brand’s creative director. On top of that, she’s the brand ambassador for luxury Turkish jewelry company Bee Goddess. Both jewelry brands have been seen on celebrities like Hailee Steinfeld, Gwen Stefani, and Madonna.
How did Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma meet?
One of Wilson’s close friends, actor and singer Hugh Sheridan, said on 2Day FM that he had been deliberately trying to set up his friend with her “perfect match,” and decided Agruma was the one.
“I’d been setting Rebel up with various people and Ramona up with various people. I’m a bit of a matchmaker in my spare time, but Rebel was a really hard one and so was Ramona,” he said.
Wilson talked to People about her relationship in May without mentioning any specifics about who she was seeing, and said their first date was over the phone.
“We spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting. And that was a really good way to get to know each other,” she said. “It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic.”
She added, “I think going through the process of finding more self-worth, I think that what you want in a partner is elevated and so it’s great to have someone who feels like an equal partner and be in a healthy relationship… There were times — I’m not saying with all my exes, they’re great — but there were some times that I was probably putting up with that I shouldn’t have. So it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship.”
How long have Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma been dating?
Though Wilson didn’t go “Instagram official” with Agruma until June 2022, she has posted pictures of them together as far back as January of this year. They went to a Los Angeles Rams game together with some friends, including James Corden, and they went to the the Vanity Fair Oscar party together.
A source told People that they have been dating each other for the last six months at least, saying, “It’s been very cool for Rebel’s friends to see her this secure with someone.”
They’re very affectionate on Instagram.
Since revealing their relationship, both women have posted pics and left sweet comments on each other’s public profiles. In July of 2022, Wilson shared a photo of herself attending Wimbledon in London. In the photo, Wilson is wearing a bubblegum pink dress in a woven pattern. Wilson was at the event with her sister, Liberty, and she posed for photos with tennis greats Todd Woodbridge and Rennae Stubbs.
In the comments, Agruma posted a sweet message to Wilson, writing, “Pink Princess 💗👸🏼.” She clearly doesn’t have eyes for anyone else in that photo.
How serious are Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma?
There were rumors that the couple were engage during Halloween weekend, 2022, when the couple attended the Casamigos Tequila party allegedly wearing diamond engagement rings. A source told Page Six that they were telling everyone that they’re planning a wedding.
“They were making out in a corner and telling everyone how excited they are to be engaged,” said the insider.
That night they dressed up as Barbies with a group of friends in matching costumes.
But on Saturday, November 5, Wilson went on Instagram Stories to clear things up. She shared a short video of herself and Agruma at Disney with a text overlay reading, “Thanks for the well wishes but we are NOT engaged!”
But things were clearly getting serious quick. Wilson’s mother Sue Bownds did come all the way to Los Angeles from Sydney, Australia, to meet her daughter’s new girlfriend this past summer.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported, “She and Agruma have grown very close in a short time. Wilson’s mother Sue Bownds, who lives in Sydney, recently flew to LA to meet Agruma, while the couple have openly discussed having a family and getting married.”
On Friday, June 24, Wilson shared a photo of herself and Agruma out after enjoying a very chilly helicopter ride over Iceland, where the couple was vacationing together.
“Trying to look cool whilst freezing,” Wilson wrote on her Instagram Story where they’re wearing matching long blue puffer jackets.
A week earlier, she shared a photo with Agruma in Italy.
And then, on February 19, 2023, they made it official: they’re engaged. Wilson shared a series of pics stunning taking during a trip to Disneyland, where she presented Agruma with a gorgeous engagement ring. The pair were wearing matching pink and white striped sweaters with a big heart in the center, and posed on a carpet of rose petals.
“We said YES!” Wilson wrote in the caption. “Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring and to [Disney CEO] Bob Iger and the incredible team at Disneyland @disneyweddings for pulling off this magical surprise!”
