With gentle hands and the heart of a fighter, Reba McEntire is returning to The Voice as a coach for Season 24.

Reba, who’s previously been on the show as a battle advisor and mega mentor, will take up a red chair alongside veteran coach John Legend and returning coaches Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani. Replacing Blake Shelton, who announced his departure from the show back in October, Reba will have big shoes to fill — Blake was both the longest-standing and winningest coach in The Voice history.

“This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice,” Blake wrote on social media.

“There’s a new Coach in town!” Reba tweeted today.

One of the most successful female recording artists in history, Reba has sold over 56 million albums worldwide. She’s a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and has won 15 American Music Awards, 13 ACM Awards, nine People’s Choice Awards, seven CMA Awards, two GRAMMY Awards, and an ACM Career Achievement Honor. She’s one of only four entertainers in history to receive the National Artistic Achievement Award from the U.S. Congress.

The Voice is a four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series featuring the strongest vocalists from across the country. Contestants compete in five musical stages: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs, and Live Performance Shows. Season 23 is wrapping up currently, with a two-hour semi-finale episode airing tonight, and the next season will start up this fall.
