PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Calm and cool conditions return to the greater Portland-Vancouver area Tuesday, making it one of the driest days this week.
A sun and cloud mix will help keep temperatures in the mid- to upper-50s during the afternoon hours Tuesday. A stray afternoon shower or two is possible, but much drier conditions are expected overall.
Rain showers return Wednesday as the chance for thunderstorms increases across western Oregon and southwest Washington. No severe weather is expected, but a stray and isolated rumble of thunder, lightning and even small hail is possible.
Rain accumulation will start ramping up during the middle of the week and last through the trick-or-treat hours Thursday. Temperatures expected to remain cool with highs in the low to mid 50s.
Snow elevation levels remain close to 4,000 feet. Heavy and accumulating snow showers aren’t expected until the middle of the week. A few stray, non-impactful snow showers are possible Tuesday around Mt. Hood.

Highs in the mid-50s are near average as October comes to an end and November begins. This week’s heavy rain could help decrease the rain deficit felt around Portland.
