Featuring diamond honeysuckles over a diamond greek key base, this Tiara originated first appeared on Princess Eugenie of Greece who probably got it as a gift from her mother, the wealthy Princess Marie Bonaparte.

During her short-lived marriage to Prince Dominik Radziwiłł, Princess Eugenie wore the Radziwiłł Tiara and some Habsburg Heirlooms but those had been stolen by her former husband after their divorce in 1946, thus Princess Eugenie wore her mother’s Cartier Bandeau Tiara when she attended the Wedding Ball of Queen Elizabeth II and her first cousin, Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, in 1947, before being glimpsed wearing this Diamond Tiara at another Gala held during the Wedding celebrations.

By 1953, Princess Eugenie had remarried to Prince Raymundo della Torre e Tasso, Duke of Castel Duino and wore the Tiara with the Castel Duino Sapphire Necklace for the Coronation of her cousin-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, in London, which she attended with her parents, Prince George and Princess Marie, who officially represented the Greek Royal Family.

Princess Eugenie also wore the Tiara with the Castel Duino Sapphire Parure for a Banquet at Élysée Palace during the Greek State Visit to France in 1956, follows by an appearance later that month for a Gala Performance at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre, during the Stockholm Equestrian Olympics, as well as the Order of Amaranth Ball in 1956.

Later, Princess Eugenie wore her Diamond Tiara for King Paul’s 60th Birthday Banquet at the Royal Palace of Athens in 1961, with a final appearance with the Castel Duino Sapphire Parure at the Wedding Ball of Prince Juan Carlos of Spain and Princess Sophia of Greece in 1962.

In 1962, Princess Eugenie had inherited her mother’s Cartier Olive Wreath Tiara, and then this Diamond Tiara was worn by her only daughter, Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł, for the Greek Monarchy Centenary Celebrations in 1963.

Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł also wore this Diamond Tiara for the Wedding Ball of King Constantine II of Greece and Princess Anne Marie of Denmark at the Royal Palace of Athens in 1964.

Two years later, the Diamond Tiara made a prominent appearance when Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł married John-Henri Fruchaud at the Catholic Church in Irakleio in Athens in 1966.

The final public appearance of the Diamond Tiara came in 1967, when it as worn by Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł for the Wedding of her friend, Queen Margrethe of Denmark, in Copenhagen.

After her death in 1989, her jewels were inherited by Princess Eugenie’s three children, including Princess Tatiana Radziwiłł and the 3rd Duke of Castel Duino, and in 1999, but while some jewels like Princess Cartier Olive Wreath Tiara, the Radziwiłł Tiara, the Castel Duino Sapphire Parure and Queen Olga’s Pearl Brooch have been publicly sold, the Tiara way still belong to Princess Tatiana, who attends but is not usually pictured at royal events, though it was not worn by her only daughter at her wedding. Lets hope we get to see this Tiara again soon!
