Prince George’s County councilmember Calvin Hawkins II will resign on Dec. 22 to take on a position in the executive.
PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Prince George’s County at-large councilmember Calvin Hawkins II on Friday announced that he was resigning from his post effective Dec. 22.
Hawkins will be transitioning to a new position as assistant deputy chief administrative officer for economic development in the executive branch.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to the residents of Prince George’s County for the trust and support you’ve shown me throughout my tenure on the council. Serving on this body has been a profound honor, and I take immense pride in what we’ve achieved together,” Hawkins said.
Hawkins has spent more than 30 years in civic service and has worked for three former county executives.
