PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After committing an armed robbery at a local bank earlier this year, a Portland man received a lengthy sentence on Tuesday.
James Wallace, 55, who is a repeat offender, was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison, along with five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay more than $6,000 in restitution for multiple robberies that he committed.
The robbery took place on Feb. 28 at the KeyBank on Woodstock Avenue in Portland.
“Wallace approached a teller and pressed a loaded gun to the teller’s torso, demanding the teller open the cash drawer. Wallace left the bank with $856 in cash, leaving behind his gun. At the time of the robbery, Wallace was on federal supervision for a prior federal bank robbery conviction,” officials said.
He pleaded guilty to armed robbery in August.
