TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WWLP) – Tewksbury Police are searching for a man in connection with a stabbing at Tewksbury State Hospital.

Tewksbury Police were notified of an assault on the grounds of Tewksbury State Hospital around 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15. When officers arrived, they found an individual had been stabbed during an altercation between parties who are known to each other. There was then a fleeing suspect. 

According to police, a local hospital treated the victim for injuries that didn’t appear to be life-threatening. Police are looking for Brian Kobs in connection with the incident. The last time Kobs was seen he was wearing a black and white shirt, a tan or yellow jacket, jeans, and gray shoes. 

Police searched the area with the Tewksbury Police Department Drone Unit, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and multiple K-9 units, but Kobs may have left.

Police do not believe this is a random act of violence. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
