DENVER (KDVR) — Police in Thornton were involved in a shooting on Tuesday night, but few details were immediately available.
The Thornton Police Department posted about the shooting just before 9:30 p.m. and said officers were investigating in the 200 block of East 120th Avenue, near Grant Street.
“We are working through the details. This is an active & ongoing investigation at this time,” the department posted. Police said there was no danger to the community.
FOX31’s Shaul Turner arrived at the scene to find a parking lot taped off in near an Applebee’s restaurant. Witnesses said they heard several shots as people were working and eating in the open businesses nearby.
A large area was cordoned off in the area behind the restaurant and toward the nearby car wash.
Officers responded to a shooting in the area back in May. Witnesses told FOX31 at the time that it happened in the parking lot of the SureStay Hotel, formally the Best Western.
