CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Tonight:

Cloudy with areas of rain and fog, some of the rain could get heavy by early Wednesday morning. Temperatures will hold pretty steady in the low to mid-50s for the Piedmont but 40s for the mountains and foothills. The chance of rain is 70%.

Wednesday

The forecast trend is moving in a drier direction for Charlotte in the second half of Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday morning commute looks to be a wet one, but most showers should be light with an isolated heavier rain. The significant change is it looks like rain will be done by the mid-afternoon at least (the only exception will be our eastern viewing area (Anson, Chesterfield, and Richmond County). These counties could have rain Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Thursday:

It was windy and mostly cloudy early, then some clearing in the afternoon and evening. With highs in the mid-60s, There will be showers east, but even there, it will move out quickly as the day goes on.

The further west you go, the less rain to no rain will fall on Thursday morning. Highs each day will be upgraded to the mid to upper 60s. If you plan to visit the Eastern Carolinas, note that they will have a lot more rain up to 2-4″.

Friday

Skies will be mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 60s.  Look for clear skies overnight with lows in the low 40s.
