Plastiq Will Start Accepting Amex Cards Again

In early February, Plastiq stopped accepting American Express credit cards, citing operational issues. Soon after that the real issues started, and in May Plastiq filed for bankruptcy.

Priority Technology Holdings completed the acquisition of Plastiq on August 1, 2023, with the approval of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Today the company sent out an email, informing users of the acquisition and introducing the new name “Plastiq, powered by Priority”. But the email also had some other surprising information. American Express credit cards will soon be accepter once again.

This acquisition means great things for our customer base, including faster delivery options and paying with AMEX. Be on the lookout for those launches in the next couple weeks.

There are no details for now about the categories will be supported, but this is exciting news for those who use Plastiq to increase their credit card spending.
