Person dies in Fort Worth after accidental self shooting, according to police

A person accidentally shot themselves in Fort Worth on Sunday morning and later died at a hospital from their injuries, police said.

A person accidentally shot themselves and later died at a hospital from their injuries in Fort Worth on Sunday, Fort Worth police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call about 10 a.m. at the intersection of of Museum Way and Matisse Drive, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a victim with an apparent gunshot wound who was then taken to an area hospital for treatment and later died from the injuries, police said.

Investigators determined the shooting was accidentally self-inflicted, police said. Homicide and Gun Violence detectives will further investigate the shooting.

The victim who died will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office.
