Rhino is reissuing Pantera‘s discography from 1990’s Cowboys From Hell to 2000’s Reinventing The Steel as a picture disc vinyl box set. The set is out on July 21 and is limited to 3,500 copies.

The box also keeps in line with Pantera‘s long-held tradition of not reissuing any of their earlier records, which mostly makes sense. Pantera‘s first three records – Metal Magic, Projects In The Jungle, and I Am The Night – were fairly hair metal leaning and featured Terry Glaze on vocals. But it’s still strange that the band ignores their 1988 record Power Metal. It’s got the band’s classic lineup, it’s fairly groovy, and the artwork isn’t horrendous. Go figure.
