A murderous Ohio woman met several men for sex, then gave them lethal doses of fentanyl and robbed them, authorities said.
Rebecca Auborn, 33, was indicted Wednesday on four counts of murder, though police believe there may be even more victims. One man, who met Auborn in December 2022, survived his encounter. She was charged with assault in that case.
“Don’t buy sex in Ohio — it ruins lives and could cost you yours,” state attorney general Dave Yost said in a press release. None of the five victims have been publicly identified.
Auborn was already behind bars before Wednesday’s indictment, having been arrested in September in connection with one of the incidents.
On Jan. 15, 2023, Auborn met a man in Columbus and mixed fentanyl into his crack pipe, according to police. The man overdosed, and Auborn took his belongings and left, cops said. Authorities said Auborn admitted to the crime, though she has officially pleaded not guilty.
Auborn then repeated the same scheme on April 1, April 13 and June 17, according to police.
The investigation into Auborn began after a police task force received a tip that a woman was meeting johns, causing them to overdose and then stealing their belongings, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
Police are still investigating Auborn’s activities in northeast Columbus between December 2022 and August 2023.
Auborn was charged with four counts of murder, four counts of involuntary manslaughter, five counts of robbery, five counts of felony assault, one count of tampering with evidence and nine drug crimes. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
