Police have identified the suspect as 39-year-old Elias Huizar. He is believed to have killed two people and abducted a 1-year-old child.

RICHLAND, Wash. — Police discovered the body of a homicide victim at the home of a man suspected of killing a woman outside an elementary school earlier in the day Monday.

Police have identified the suspect as 39-year-old Elias Huizar. He has not yet been found and is considered armed and dangerous. He is also believed to have abducted 1-year-old Roman Huizar.

Huizar is suspected of fatally shooting his ex-wife outside an elementary school in West Richland.

According to the West Richland Police Department (WRPD), the shooting happened at William Wiley Elementary School at 3:23 p.m., which is around the time school lets out for the day.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Then, when serving a search warrant at his home, officers discovered a second victim. According to the Washington State Patrol, she was also known to Huizar.

Police believe he could be driving a silver 2009 Toyota Corolla with a Washington license plate #CBZ4745. WSP believes he could be trying to get to Mexico.

Huizar is a former Yakima cop and was due in court on Monday for a pending child rape case.

The WRPD said it is working with multiple regional law enforcement officials as well as the Washington State Patrol, FBI and U.S. Marshals Service.

Anyone with information about the incidents or Huizar’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
