Northeast Philly carjacking and abduction ends without injuries

Two victims were abducted in an armed carjacking in Northeast Philadelphia; both were found unharmed as police continue the search for suspects.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — An overnight armed home invasion and abduction in Northeast Philadelphia ended with an officer opening fire, according to police.

It happened around 1:40 a.m. Saturday on the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue.

Philadelphia police say a family was confronted by armed suspects after arriving home.

The suspects forced their way into the home and stole items before abducting two family members at gunpoint.

The victims were taken to a location on the 2000 block of Albright Street in Kensington where police got into a confrontation resulting in an officer opening fire. No one was injured.

The armed suspects fled the scene on foot.

The victims were treated for their injuries.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Officer Involved Shooting unit is investigating.
