MINNEAPOLIS — After three days of record-setting warmth this week, Friday will not follow suit.

The forecast high is 38 degrees, which is about 20 degrees cooler than Thursday. That’s still 12 degrees above average.

Spotty snow showers should dissipate across northern and central Minnesota as we head into Friday afternoon.

High pressure pushes in this weekend, bringing back some sunshine, but it won’t do much to warm us. Afternoon highs stay in the mid-30s with overnight lows in the 20s, and early Saturday morning windchills will make it feel like the 10s.

It looks to stay dry for a stretch of days before we see a few weak systems try to move in closer to Valentine’s Day and the end of the week.

There are some signs of cooler air coming in for the third full week of the month. For now, we mostly remain above average.
