PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Do you dream of making the perfect grilled cheese? Well, Tillamook might have had the product for you if it hadn’t sold out in under 10 minutes.
As part of a collaboration with Kewpie, Tillamook released Butternaise on Thursday morning, a mixture of mayonnaise and the creamery’s very own butter.
Pitched as “made for grilled cheese greatness,” the product was only available on the Tillamook website as part of a bundle that came with two packs of cheese and a spreader.
The bundles went on sale at 9 a.m. on Thursday, and by 9:10, they were sold out and a message had been added to the product page saying they were “gone too soon.”
“Buttery, crispy, melty and gone too soon. Thanks to everyone who grabbed a jar of Butternaise before the spread disappeared. Spread is all gone but these Recipes will last all season.”
It is not clear whether the collaboration will ever return.
