A Nebraska mortuary worker has been charged following allegations that he had an intimate encounter with a life-sized sex doll he found in a dead person’s residence.
Ryan Smith, 41, is facing charges of burglary, criminal trespassing and tampering with physical evidence, according to documents obtained by WOWT 6 News.
The stunt didn’t just land Smith behind bars but without a job, costing him his gig at Mid America First Call. The company, according to its site, says it is “available 24/7 to assist with any mortuary need,” including removals transportation of bodies, embalming and cremations.
Smith had been one of the workers tasked with collecting a body from a unit at Rock Creek Apartments, in which he found the life-sized sex doll, according to WOWT.
Later that same day, Smith allegedly reached out to the property manager, claiming the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office wanted him to collect the doll for evidence.
The manager, who nixed the request, reportedly later heard noises coming from inside the locked unit, only to see Smith leaving the residence with “disheveled” clothes, per the documents.
Though he left the property, he warned the manager he’d come back with a warrant for the doll, prompting the manager to phone authorities, lest Smith attempt to steal the item.
Investigators then went to the scene, which had been photographed when it was initially processed, and saw that items had been moved around.
Smith could face additional charges, depending on what’s uncovered from DNA samples from the doll — which authorities requested after the manager’s sighting.
Mid America First Call owner Justin Dalton confirmed in a statement to the outlet that Smith had been fired following the alleged incident.
