Emo Legends announce their long-awaited return to the DMV with a stop at Nationals Park.
WASHINGTON — It’s not a phase and We’re Not Okay (we promise)! Emo fans in the DMV can rejoice as My Chemical Romance has announced their return to DC.
The band announced on social media they’re bringing their “Long Live the Black Parade” world tour to Nationals Park on Aug. 18, 2026, and they’re bringing along indie rock favorites Modest Mouse.
The tour celebrates the band’s 20th anniversary of their iconic 2006 album and on-stage persona “The Black Parade.” and this time the show comes with a bold new twist: a theatrical storyline built around the mysterious “Grand Immortal Dictator,” a larger-than-life figure woven into the concert’s visuals and stage design. Front man Gerard Way and company will be performing the album in its entirety with generation defining anthems such as “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Famous Last Words,” along with other hits throughout their catalogue.
This is My Chemical Romance’s first show in the DMV since 2011, making it an especially long-awaited night for local fans. The band parted ways and broke up indefinitely in 2013, leaving fans heartbroken, but they thrilled the music world with a reunion announcement in 2019, sparking a triumphant return to the stage.
Tickets for My Chemical Romance’s show at Nats Park go on sale Friday, Sept. 26 at noon. Check here on the band’s website to get your tickets.
