While searches were briefly suspended Thursday night before resuming Friday morning, family members told ABC10 it’s felt like an around-the-clock effort.

“I hope if he is in [the river] he’s recovered, if not we hope somebody gets a phone call in the family saying ‘We spoke to him’ and we can all just reunite and give him a big ole’ hug,” said Amanda Martinez, the mother of the missing student.

Two teens approached by school administrators reportedly took off running and jumped into the water. One of the teens came up but search crews are still looking for the other teen.
