The expanded recall affects certain products sold at stores nationwide after undeclared pecans and wheat were discovered in mislabeled packaging.
WASHINGTON — Silvestri Sweets Inc. is expanding a voluntary recall of certain holiday candy products sold at Aldi stores nationwide due to undeclared allergens, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The Geneva, Illinois–based company said its 5-ounce bags of Choceur-branded Holiday Bark may contain allergens not listed on the label. The Cookie Butter Holiday Bark may contain undeclared pecans, while the Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark may contain undeclared wheat. People with allergies to pecans or wheat could face serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the products.
The expanded recall includes additional lot numbers and “best by” dates not covered in the original recall from late November. The affected products were distributed nationwide through Aldi grocery stores.
No illnesses have been reported.
The recalled Cookie Butter Holiday Bark is sold in 5-ounce Choceur stand-up pouch bags with the following lot numbers and dates:
-
Lot 28525, Best By 05/2026
-
Lot 29925, Best By 05/2026
-
Lot 30625, Best By 06/2026
The recalled Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark is sold in 5-ounce Choceur stand-up pouch bags with these lot numbers and dates:
-
Lot 28525, Best By 08/2026
-
Lot 29925, Best By 08/2026
-
Lot 30625, Best By 09/2026

The company said the expanded recall was initiated after it was discovered that Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark had been packaged in Cookie Butter Holiday Bark packaging, resulting in undeclared allergens. An investigation found the issue may have been caused by a temporary breakdown in the production and packaging process.
Customers who purchased the recalled products should not eat them and are urged to get rid of the items.
