It’s a big week for Moksi fans.

The beloved electronic music duo announced their split just days ago, with Diego Stijnen departing from the project to pursue a solo career as an MC and DJ while Samir Ait Moh continues as the sole member of Moksi.

Stijnen’s departure is ushering in a brand new era for the Moksi project, which begins today with the release of “Gimme Bass” alongside surging house music star Nostalgix. The first single off Moksi’s upcoming solo album, Moksi Crew, “Gimme Bass” is a bold and abrasive bass house anthem.

The track, which was started in early 2022 in a studio near Los Angeles, immediately gets into action with its pulverizing kicks and Nostalgix’s gritty vocals. The drop explodes with the help of mind-bending sound design, highlighted by distorted bass and a house groove that is bound to go off live. Take a listen to “Gimme Bass” below.

“Ever since Nostalgix came on the block, I’ve been wanting to work with her,” Moksi says. “Her songs, live shows and personality really click with me. “Her vocals literally screamed for a bass-heavy production, and so that’s what we did!”

“I’ve been a fan of Moksi since I started DJing in 2017. I would always play out his records and still do,” Nostalgix adds. “Over the past couple of years we became good friends doing shows together and I absolutely love Moksi’s energy. We decided to get into the studio together, had the best time and created this amazing record from it. I love it so much!”
