Meghan Markle has been announced among the honorees for the 2023 Women of Vision Awards, to be held May 16 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.

Pioneering journalist and feminist Gloria Steinem, a co-founder of the Ms. Foundation, is scheduled to present The Duchess of Sussex with the award for “her global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls.”

Other recipients to be honored during the ceremony include Wanda Irving, co-founder of Dr. Shalon’s Maternal Action Project, Kimberly Inez McGuire, executive director of URGE, and Black Voters Matter founder LaTosha Brown.

Abortion rights activist Olivia Julianna and LGBTQ+ community Rebekah Bruesehoff will be recognized as emerging leaders during the event.

“We are thrilled to announce this year’s honorees for the Women of Vision Awards and to celebrate 50 years of progress and power,” Ms. Foundation president and CEO Teresa C. Younger said in Monday’s announcement. “Meghan, LaTosha, Wanda, Kimberly, Olivia, and Rebekah are incredible leaders and we are grateful to be able to shine a light on their many accomplishments and tireless work on behalf of gender and racial equity across the country and the world.”

Previous Women of Vision honorees include former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, former Teen Vogue editor Elaine Welteroth, marketing executive Bozoma Saint John, and fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg.

Podcaster Danielle Moodie will host the 2023 Women of Vision Awards, which will include performances by Sweet Honey In The Rock.

Former ‘Breakfast Club’ radio host and entrepreneur Angela Yee will welcome guests to the afterparty, which will feature music spun by DJ Mary Mac.
