Five months after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s last trip to New York City led to a complicated paparazzi chase, the couple are returning for a good cause. Tuesday, October 10 marks World Mental Health Day, and to mark the occasion, the couple will make an appearance at the festival hosted Project Healthy Minds. Meghan and Harry will be joined by a group that includes surgeon general Vivek Murthy for the Archewell Foundation Parents Summit, in a panel moderated by Today’s Carson Daly.

“The summit will feature parents who have experienced tragic loss, connected to their child’s social media use,” said a spokesperson for the foundation. “The families have been engaged with the Archewell Foundation for the past year, bolstering community and driving towards solutions. Together, they are united in their mission to share personal experiences, data, and research to ensure the same does not happen to other families.”

Upon leaving their royal roles in 2020, Meghan and Harry both made promoting internet safety a key part of their charitable portfolio. Some of the Archewell Foundation’s earliest donations went to researchers working on the issue, and later that year, Harry joined a commission on misinformation and disinformation organized by the Aspen Institute. In early 2023, the foundation became a member of the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund, and in August, Harry and Meghan personally called a handful of fund’s financial awardees to praise their work.

Prince Harry has been observing World Mental Health Day with events and engagements since he was still a working royal. In 2019, he honored the day by collaborating with pop star Ed Sheeran on a humorous video that asked viewers to speak up about their mental health.
