My home has become the hub for holiday entertaining, thanks to the still-bright sparkle of last year’s major kitchen renovation. But when I looked through my cabinets recently, I found chipped pie plates and stained casserole dishes that dulled the sparkle quite a bit. It was frightfully clear that I was in need of a major upgrade from the basic baking dishes I’d been relying on since college for this year’s holiday dinner.

What Makes Henckels’ Ceramic Bakeware Set Great

When it came to the basic glass bakeware I’ve been using for years, it was function over form. But with this 8-piece bakeware set from Henckels, there’s no need to choose and it comes with everything you’d need for hosting this holiday season.

Each piece is coated in a scratch-resistant glaze, so the finish will look good as new for holidays to come, and the white ceramic is the perfect backdrop for any dish (there’s a bold cobalt and a cherry red version for fans of color, too). These handmade stoneware dishes are made to last — which is music to my recipe-developer ears — and can be used in the microwave, oven, and even loaded up with casseroles for future-me and stashed in the freezer.

The workhorses in the set are the two rectangular baking dishes, which are in regular rotation in the weeks leading up to the holidays. So far, I’ve made French toast casserole and make-ahead Greek omelet for lazy weekend breakfasts, as well as creamy chicken and rice, my favorite retro recipe that returns to my dinner queue every autumn. On the big day, the smaller 10×7 1/2-inch baking dish would be perfect for serving green bean casserole straight from the oven, while the larger 13×10-inch dish is reserved for stuffing. (That’s how I make sure there’s enough of my favorite part of the meal.)

In addition to each piece being super functional and practical, they’re also beautiful. Particularly, the deep, fluted pie dish, which is great for baking seasonal apple crumble or sweet potato soufflé, as well as pulling double duty as a serving dish for ruby-hued cranberry-jalapeño dip.

The final months of the year can feel overwhelming with menus to plan and gifts to purchase. But now that my kitchen is stocked with a versatile set of bakeware, I feel much more prepared hosting holiday feasts and cozy dinners, knowing that anything I serve will finally get its due in beautiful — and not chipped — dishes.
