There are very few kitchenware makers out there whose style matches their design and functionality. Material, however, is one of them. If you’re unfamiliar with the AAPI-founded, DTC brand, they’re the brains behind some of the Kitchn staff’s cooking, prepping, and serving non-negotiables. Take their cutting board, the reBoard, for example: It’s so frequently sold out, whenever it is available on their site, my colleagues and I stock up just in case. There’s also the brand’s $20 spatula that made Kitchn staff realize there really is a cooking tool hierarchy out there. Or, the set of knives that trumps any fancy Japanese knife I’ve bought in the past.

Basically, when kitchenware is this well-executed, long-lasting, and undeniably chic, you really can’t go wrong. The only room for error with Material is in the chance that you might miss the opportunity to buy one of the widely coveted items before it sells out. So, with that in mind, we’ve got some news for you, and we suggest you act quickly! Material just launched their super-popular table knives in an all new hue, and believe me when I say that this shade is perfect for the holidays.

What makes this coveted cutlery so special? Well, much like their Knife Trio (you know, the one that puts the rest of my knives to shame?), these straight and sharp blades are constructed with the highest-quality German stainless steel and balanced with attractive, matte, stain-resistant handles. The set includes four knives, each of which are substantial enough in the hand to feel luxurious when used to slice through steak, veggies, and casseroles alike, all while being lightweight enough to provide ample maneuverability. Oh, and the blades are packaged along with a Maple knife block which safely stores the beauties either vertically or horizontally (making it a lovely storage solution and tableside accessory).

While all four of the pre-existing handle hues are no doubt timeless and tasteful, this new color, Chive, would make a particularly special edition to a holiday tablescape. The deep, jewel-toned handle is festive without being overstated and, although seasonally appropriate, is also absolutely stunning year round. The new, limited-edition drop comes along with a unique White Ash holder, replacing the traditional Maple that accompanies the rest of the available colors. With all the same functionality as the Maple block, this special stand-in has a snowy, light tone, further imbuing the set with holiday flair.

While I wouldn’t blame you if you rushed to grab yourself a set (I mean, same), consider what a thoughtful, beautiful gift these knives would make for literally anyone in your life. And, if you order before December 11 — or opt for expedited shipping before December 18 — you’ll receive these special blades with enough time to stick them under the tree! If I were you, though, I wouldn’t wait on it. With Material’s huge fan base, chances are the limited edition set will sell out, fast.
