Returning to Zeds Dead‘s Altered States, Mary Droppinz has unleashed her electro-inspired single “Ignite.”

“Ignite” utilizes a Flowdan vocal that fans of Zeds Dead and Subtronics may recognize, as it was used on their ever-popular hit “Gassed Up.” Droppinz has done a phenomenal job reissuing the vocal and introducing it to a brand new space. Stripping away the heavier elements, she’s maintained the aggressive feel of the track while simultaneously making it more house-oriented.

“It’s such an honor to put my own touch on this legendary track from Zeds Dead and Subtronics, I was especially drawn to the iconic vocals from Flowdan,” said Droppinz. “My intention for this track was to slow down the original and turn it into a heavy hitter that could be played out in the house and techno world.”

Droppinz has quickly become a mainstay on Altered States. Last year, she debuted on the label with her Galatic Portal EP followed by her Too Sweet EP and her single “NYC” earlier this year. She has continued to make waves in 2023, a she was the first artist to release an electro track on Repopulate Mars with her song “Sandman.”
