Marius Borg Høiby – Timeline

Marius Borg Høiby is the eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, from a previous relationship. He has been charged with several serious crimes against multiple victims.  

**2020s**

2026

  • Trial expected in Early 2026. It could begin as early as mid-January and is expected to take 6 weeks to complete. 

August 2025

  • Oslo State Prosecutor announces they are bringing 32 charges against Marius. These charges are based on the Oslo Police’s June 2025 findings.  
    • The charges include cases of:
      • 1x rape with intercourse.
      • 3x rape without intercourse.
      • plus other charges that include Abuse in close relationships, several acts of violence, making death threats, assaulting a public official and violating the Road Traffic Act. 
    • In total, the case has a maximum prison time of 10 years if convicted on all charges. 
  • Høiby denies all charges, with the exception of a violent incident against his ex-girlfriend in Frogner in August last year.
    • The rapes allegedly took place between 2018 and August 2024. 
  • The Royal Palace has stated: 
    • It is up to the courts to hear this case and reach a decision. We have nothing to add beyond this.
