A jury convicted Robert Grell on Aug. 12 of 12 counts of forcible lewd act upon a child and eight counts of sex acts with a child under 10 years old.
Officials said that Grell sexually assaulted one victim when she was between 5 and 10 years old. His actions include forcing her to orally copulate him, fondling her and attempting penetration, while bribing her with sweet treats for her not to speak about it.
Another victim said Grell molested her when she was between 5 and 8 years old and again at 14, the DA’s office said.
Both girls testified that the man showed them pornography on how to perform sex acts.
Current California law allows Grell to be eligible for release at an elder parole hearing once he turns 50 years old and has served 20 years of his sentence.
