A 62-year-old man was killed in his Bronx apartment — and his roommate has been arrested for murder, police said Wednesday.

The victim was dead with injuries to his head when cops responded to a 911 call to the basement apartment on W. 169th St. near Plimpton Ave. in Highbridge about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said. His name was not immediately released.

Cops found the victim’s roommate Angelo Miranda outside the building and took him into custody. He was charged with murder and manslaughter about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday after hours of questioning.

Miranda, 51, had a gun on him when he was taken into custody but it was not clear if it was used in the slaying.

An autopsy was still being completed Wednesday morning to determine the victim’s cause of death.

But enough evidence was collected to show there was some kind of clash, warranting the charges against the suspect, a police source said.
