A gunman blasted away at a 24-year-old man on a Bronx street early Saturday, fatally shooting him in the chest, police said.
The victim was on Elder Ave. near Watson Ave. in Soundview about 2:30 a.m. when several shots were fired, police said.
When cops arrived on the scene, they found the victim sprawled out on the ground, shot in the chest.
EMS rushed him to Jacobi Hospital, where he died. His name was not immediately released as investigators track down family members.
The victim has a small criminal record in New York City and was busted for robbery in 2017, but it wasn’t clear if his criminal past had anything to do with the shooting.
No arrests have been made. Witnesses saw a blue Jeep Wrangler speeding away from the scene, but cops could not confirm if the shooter had fled in the vehicle.
