Linda Perhacs has been reported missing. Friends and collaborators have shared a statement asking fans for help in finding the 82-year-old musician, who, according to former manager Laurel Stearns, was discharged from a residential care facility eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian. “Since then,” Stearns writes, “friends and longtime collaborators have been unable to reach her and repeated attempts to contact her guardian have reportedly gone unanswered.” Anyone with information on Perhacs’ status and whereabouts is asked to contact Stearns at lstearns@primarywave.com.
Julia Holter and DubLab co-founder Mark “Frosty” McNeill are among those who shared the post. “Those issuing this statement are not alleging wrongdoing,” Stearns added. “Rather, they are seeking confirmation that Linda is safe, well, and receiving appropriate care, while expressing concern over the prolonged absence of communication with a beloved public figure.”
Perhacs’ debut album, Parallelograms, was released in 1970 but found a cult audience in the late ’90s. It was followed by 2014’s The Soul of All Natural Things and 2017’s I’m a Harmony, both of which featured Holter.
