Last Day to Make Plastiq Payments with Amex Cards

If you are planning to make any Plastiq payments using American Express credit cards, today is the last day to do so. The bill payment service has informed users today that Amex cards will be removed from accounts and payment will no longer be processed, starting tomorrow.

“Due to operational issues, Plastiq will no longer accept American Express. Any AMEX cards currently added to your Plastiq wallet will be removed and processing for AMEX will end, effective February 10, 2023.”

As a reminder, American Express cards are currently permitted for the following payment categories on Plastiq:

Vendors Located In the United States

  • Government
  • Utilities
  • Construction & Maintenance
  • Wholesale Inventory
  • Professional Services
  • Business Services
  • Education
  • Residential Rent
  • Club Fees & Memberships

Vendors Located In Canada

  • Government
  • Utilities
  • Business Services
  • Residential Rent
  • Education

Plastiq charges a 2.9% fee for making bill payments with a credit card.
