CHESTER, S.C. — A large police presence has been reported at the Chester Park School Complex. The schools located in the area are on lockdown.
This is happening along Lancaster Highway.
The Chester County Sheriff’s Office says they have multiple people detained. Deputies searched a school in the area and said there were no additional areas or people of concern within the school.
WCCB confirmed this is not an active shooter situation.
Officials with the school district says they started student dismissal at 1:15pm. Parents picking up children in the car line were asked to go to the back of the building near the cafeteria entrance.
No other details have been released. This is a developing story.

The complex has been placed on a lockdown at this time.
