Hello! magazine bought the rights to the wedding of Lady Marina Windsor and Nico Macauley. The bride and groom are Roman Catholic, so it was a surprise that their “wedding” took place at All Saints’ Church in Hovingham, Yorkshire, where Marina’s late grandmother, Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, was baptized in April 1933.

The service at All Saints Church was not a wedding after all, but a celebration, as Lady Marina and Nico’s legal wedding took place on June 17th at the Ampleforth Abbey Church at Ampleforth College, where Nico was educated.
The bride and groom are Roman Catholic. Lady Marina was baptized in the Church of England. In 2008, however, she was confirmed as a Catholic while a pupil at St Mary’s, Ascot, a Roman Catholic boarding school. At the time, she was 25th in the line of succession. Five years earlier, Marina’s older brother, Edward, Lord Downpatrick, converted to Roman Catholicism when he was confirmed in a Roman Catholic service at Eton College.
Lady Marina-Charlotte Windsor is the second of three children of the Earl and Countess of St. Andrews. Lord St. Andrews is the eldest son and heir apparent to HRH The Duke of Kent.
The full coverage of Lady Marina’s wedding is in the current issue (on sale June 29) of Hello! magazine.
