VIVIAN, La. —A Louisiana Police officer was shot and killed while serving a warrant, according to KLFY.
Vivian Police Officer Marc Brock, 25, responded to a suspect’s home to serve a warrant for cyberstalking just before 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, KLFY reported. As he approached the home, the suspect fired multiple shots through a closed door, striking Brock.
Brock was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect barricaded himself in his home before surrendering to SWAT without incident nearly four hours later, according to Officer Down Memorial Page. He was arrested and has been charged with second-degree murder and cyberstalking.
“This is a devastating day for all area law enforcement families and the entire Vivian community. The fallen officer served with honor, courage, and compassion. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. His bravery and service will never be forgotten,” the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
