Kevin James, Leah Remini pay tribute to ‘The King of Queens’ on 25th anniversary

Kevin James and Leah Remini are the king and queen of throwbacks this week as “The King of Queens” co-stars commemorate the 25th anniversary of the beloved sitcom.

The pair — who played spouses Doug and Carrie Heffernan, respectively — each took to Instagram Thursday to pay homage to the series, which ran on CBS for 9 seasons from 1998 to 2007.

“25 years ago today, we aired. I am so incredibly blessed to have taken this ride with the insanely talented @leahremini and Jerry Stiller,” 58-year-old James, who scored an Emmy nod for his role, captioned a promotional shot of the trio. “I love you both so much… and thank you to the GREATEST FANS in the world!”

Stiller co-starred as Carrie’s live-in father — and the thorn in Doug’s side — Arthur. The “Seinfeld” alum died in New York in May 2020 at the age of 92.

Remini, 53, shared a clip from “The King of Queens” as well as a promo photo of herself, James and Stiller.

“By the time I signed on as Carrie Heffernan, I had been to hundreds of auditions, was cast in many pilots and some short-lived series, and was finally offered ‘The King Of Queens,’ Remini wrote. “As soon as production started on season one, I knew I was home.”

She praised her “amazing” co-stars, all of whom she said “made me laugh every day,” and noted that the “gifted guest and recurring cast made the show what it is.”

Remini gave a special shout out to the fans who “fall asleep every night” to the series or say it helped them “through a rough day and tough time in your lives, that you laughed for the first time in your day watching us … or that you and your family bond over watching.”

“It means the world to me, and I’m so grateful for this experience that lives on and on,” said Remini.
