METRC, as we learn, are nigh on a monopoly in the US cannabis market having signed contracts with multiple states and all cannabis producers (bar none) have to use the system in order to be compliant with state law. There is also a company called BioTrac who did snag the NY contract and a few others but in the main it is METRC that rules the roost
What’s the problem with that?
Well the problem, as with all companies who operate on government contract work in a near monopoly is that sense of .. do we really have to listen to you and we’re here to make the systems and rules that you as a user must follow.
